One of the many unique things about Coachella Valley is the numerous happy hours. It’s hard to justify going out to dinner when you can get excellent meals at fantastic prices in the lounge or outside patio area. For this article, I’ll focus on the Palm Desert Happy Hour and my top 4 picks.
1. Pacifica Seafood
Pacifica Seafood on El Paseo in Palm Desert has happy hour all night on Sundays and Wednesdays, and till 6:30 the other nights. You can sit in the bar area or outside patio. The bar menu is quite expansive ranging from soups, salads, oysters, calamari to fish and chips and burgers. One of my favorites is the baked scallops on the half shell with cheese and bacon. Yummy! My husband is a vodka guy so he loves that all vodka is $7. There are over 150 varieties from over 20 countries, and they give you a tablet to sort through them. One of his favorites is Effen from Holland, but I think he likes to yell “Bartender, I’ll have another Effen vodka”.
Another great place is Cuistot, which is a wonderful French restaurant that my husband and I go to for special occasions. But with their happy hour everyday from 4-6pm, you can enjoy delicious food for $9.50. The black truffle pasta is out of this world! So is the pate and sea bass. You can sit outside or in their cozy bar area. In addition to their happy hour house wine, they have daily wine specials. It is a great way to enjoy a fabulous restaurant on a regular basis!
3. Mama Gina
For Italian, Ristorante Mama Gina is the place to go. Happy Hour is very popular so they have a sign-up sheet and call you when you’re table is ready. There are small share plates and smaller sized meals. The meatballs with spinach are delicious and so is the pasta puttanesca. The happy hour is all night.
The other place that has a great happy hour is Morton’s. It is $6 plates and $5 wines with a nice variety of wines. The homemade potato chips with blue cheese dip are to die for. They are served hot and in a big bowl. The other item that is delicious are the 3 prime rib sliders each with a difference sauce served open faced. Happy Hour ends at 6:30 and then starts again at 9pm.
During season, the happy hours fill up quickly!! Palm Desert has many other happy hours such as La Peon, Mitch’s, Cork Tree, Sullivan’s, Ruth Chris, and this is only in one city. There’s many more!! What are some of your favorite Palm Desert happy hours??
